During the early stages in crafting their debut album, Fallen, Evanescence recorded numerous demos, including two strikingly similar demos for "Taking Over Me." The difference between the two demos was only the initial intros and their final few notes, whereas other songs for the album received far more varied interpretations.

This edit melds the best qualities of the two demos together, opening with a synth splutter before racing headlong into a trippy EBM riff with Amy Lee's industrial-strength pipes wafting over the nearly-atonal guitars, before finally fading out with bubbly keyboard effects.
